How long have you been a shop dog at Jobsons of Alnwick?
Jobsons owner Rachel brought me into the store when she re-opened it in March, after buying it from the previous owners in January. My role is to greet customers and other furry friends with my friendly face. Normally I'm positioned next to what is known as the"men's comfy chair" where the men sit when they wait for their significant others to finish their shopping. The men tell me their problems and pat my head, I think they find it very relaxing!
What do you like most about your job?
I love to see what customers try on as I can see the entrance to the downstairs fitting room where I sit. I like to see their happy faces when the team give them great advice and customer service. It's nice to see our regular locals and repeat holiday makers who visit year after year, as well as meet some new people when they come into the store for the first time.
What's your least favourite part of your role?
I like to meet the various dogs that come into the store (we're very dog friendly). I dislike when the dogs get a little bit too excited though - I have had my nose bitten and been knocked over my some real dogs a few times so it's not always plain sailing.
What's your favourite range from the store?
The Barbour dog range of course! I love the store's range of Barbour dog coats, available in three different styles and various sizes, as well as the snazzy leads and collars that are on offer!
Are there any misconceptions that you would like to address about your role?
Despite what some people hope, I am not for sale. I am very much part of the furniture and love being at Jobsons more than the best dog walk in the world. I love seeing the customers and what they buy, it really is a special place for retail and fashion!
Wishing you the very best wishes for the festive season and for 2025
Love from
Moska, Rachel and the Jobsons team
